Q & A about Amy's Coaching
Sessions
Q: How is
Amy's coaching style similar and different than therapy?
A: During a coaching session Amy talks with her client about his or her questions and concerns. The approach is proactive, as goals are set and conversation allows the sharing of information in a therapeutic setting. Through Amy's guidance, the client sets his or her own pace to tap into the tools and answers they hold within. Based on the topics covered in the session, assignments are usually given to complete at home to help the client progress toward their goal. Coaching is focused on the present and future, and meant to be short-term.
Therapy on the other hand, explores the history of how
you got to the current place, or what in your past is the cause. Therapy
is usually long-term.
Q: I'm
interested in learning more, how do I know if coaching is right for me?
A:
Considering coaching is an important step to live your best life. Amy
encourages all potential clients to call her, ask her any questions, and
share what you want to explore during a coaching session. It's also an
opportunity to find out if you're both a match. After all, you want to
get the most out of your session and to do this it's necessary to feel
at ease and connected. Whenever Amy feels you will benefit from someone
else's expertise--whether a therapist, acupuncturist, OB/GYN, or another
expert--she makes a referral. It's Amy's goal to help you achieve your
goals.
